Ellie, thank you so much for your message. I’m so sorry to hear about you and your husband, but pleased my blog has helped in some way. Learning to walk again truly is an amazing achievement and I can tell how proud you are of your husband.

I hope you’re doing okay with chemo and remembering to go easy on yourself. When William and I were in the thick of things, I remember thinking when will we ever get a break from this. But we moved forward, and I guess that’s what living is all about.

So, here’s to loads more living, laughing and getting over life’s challenges no matter what. Sending love, Fi 😘 xx

My husband and I, also in our forties, are also both living with Multiple Myeloma and Breast Cancer. He was diagnosed with nonsecretory Multiple Myeloma in 2023 after he lost mobility in his legs and they found a bone tumor in his spine. He had emergency surgery, relearned to walk and then did a whole bunch of chemo and radiation. A year later, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, and just had my second chemo treatment my first treatment and his maintenance chemo were back to back, so it was two chemo date days in a row. It's a unique experience, being a young(ish) couple with a teenager and going through this together. While I wouldn't wish this unique experience on anyone else, I'm so happy to have found your blog! It helps knowing we aren't alone.

That's a lovely thing to say, thank you. Feels like a lifetime ago when William was diagnosed, but it's only been a year. We're both doing really well though and I'm even back at work now. Wasn't feeling very brave about that, but I'll talk about the ups and downs of returning to work in a later post. xx
